Amazing Hematology Physicians!

For National Physician’s Week we asked our followers to highlight some amazing Hematology physicians so we can share them with you! Below is a synopsis of the answers we received. If you know any of these doctors please thank them for their work and dedication to helping blood cancer patients!

Dr. Asmaa Ferdjallah: Dr. Ferdjallah has been amazing since the day we first met her. She listens, takes my “mother’s instincts” and trusts me, and she is always positive and upbeat. She has a great energy about her, is easy to talk to and is amazing at her job with little ones.

Dr. Ahmad Al-Huniti: We have seen him several times and he is very thorough. When I come in with lists of questions he takes time and answers every single one and uses terminology that I can understand. He is always trying to build a relationship with my son- such as giving high fives and talking to him. He is a very calm physician- even when I feel like I am not calm! We are so lucky to have met him.

Dr. Dan Childs: Working with Dr Childs during my husband's battle with AML was great. He was forthcoming and honest, and worked very hard on his complex case. There were many times he would call with updates or plans at 8pm. He put up with my many questions, suggestions and concerns and had a great relationship with my sometimes stubborn husband. It's almost weird to not hear from him regularly these days.

Dr. Alicia McCauley: Alicia often cared for Cody and helped to get to the bottom of complications. She was with us from the beginning, and many times had to share less than great news with Cody, which didn't always go over well. She has a great sense of humor, and was very understanding if my husband wasn't in a good place mentally. It was easy to feel taken care of when Alicia was around.

Dr. Wilson Gonzalves: His care went beyond the medical aspect. He spent personal time with Travis, and he made sure we and Travis understood the plan and procedures. He is much more than a medical doctor; he’s a friend and a supporter of Red Drop Resources and Travis’ house.

Dr. Mark Litzow: He was our son Travis’ consultant. His care for Travis was impressive and more than thorough. It was obvious he cares deeply for his patients. He continues to support us and Red Drop Resources in helping blood cancer patients outside of the medical realm. He is truly a man and doctor that deserves recognition.

Dr. Steven Robinson: Steven was one of our son Travis’ doctors. Because they were the same age and had similar interests, they became friends. Steven spent many hours with us , explaining, encouraging and helping us through some difficult times. He still supports our efforts to help blood cancer patients with non medical needs.
