With an infectious laugh and free-spirited personality, Travis Donze drew smiles everywhere he went. His family, far and wide, have come together to remember him through Travis’ house. The purchase of this home in 2020, allows patients and their families to stay together, just minutes from Mayo Clinic.

The units in Travis’ house are fully stocked with linens, cleaning supplies, and a starting supply of paper products. Each kitchen is also stocked with plates, glasses, coffee makers, and other small appliances. A shared laundry room between the two units also includes laundry detergent and dryer sheets.

Guests are encouraged to bring any items from home they would like to make them feel at home. One commonly brought items are extra blankets, favorite board games and movies, etc.

There is no daily fee or charge to stay at Travis’ House. There is a $250 security deposit that is due at check-in and will be returned at check-out pending no damage or signs of heavy use in the unit.

Unit A is the largest unit, with a ramp entrance, a full bathroom, and eat-in kitchen. One bedroom includes a full size bed and a second bedroom with twin bunk beds.

Unit B is our smaller unit in the lower apartment of the house. There is one bedroom with a queen bed, a living room, a full bathroom and a small kitchenette.

These units are intended for patients and their families experiencing financial hardship or difficulties in finding lodging which fits their family’s needs.

Families should speak with a social worker from Mayo Clinic to be referred for the lodging. A direct referral from a social worker is required.

Social workers should email info@rdrmn.org with the patients name, date of birth, diagnosis, and desired dates of stay.
